Operating the biogas system in Çorum which will use 1 tons of poultry waste

Within the activities of UNDP/GEF program called “Sustainable Energy Education in Turkey” a biogas system processing
1 tons of poultry waste daily was put into operation in Çorum in September 1999. The biogas obtained from the system is advised to be used as a supplementary heating source for the greenhouse. The system operates preferably with chicken manure and was planned as a sample since there are quite a number of chicken farms (poultry) around this region.
